New Discoveries on Fibromyalgia? – Your Diet and Exercise
I have spent a significant amount of time and research as it relates to ones diet and how it can affect health. In fact, Ive written several articles on diet and how it relates to specific illnesses.
Since, there is not much research when it comes to diet and fibromyalgia. I have focused primarily on the feedback I have received from my clients.
My program has shown them the most hope to alleviating their Fibromyalgia symptoms, many, if not most, stated that a change in diet was also key.
Fibromyalgia is a disease which affects both the muscles and connective tissues. Its main symptoms are chronic pain in addition to the extreme pain when touched even gently.
Other symptoms include: extreme fatigue, sleep disturbances which includes bruxism (tooth grinding), difficulty breathing and difficulty swallowing.
So many times my clients have written to me telling me their doctor said, Its all in your head. Fibromyalgia has had a long history of not being accepted as an actual medical condition by many doctors.
Thats an infuriating thing to read, let alone hear in person from a doctor who is supposed to care. Recent studies imply that could actually be the key. While no known organic cause can be found, many are now starting to believe that fibromyalgia is a psychological condition.
Thats not to say these are imaginary symptoms of pain. The same research also indicates that those who suffer from fibromyalgia have a heightened sense of pain, meaning, for those who normally dont register stimuli as pain, you will register it if you suffer from fibromyalgia.
As far as diet goes, it follows a pretty common sense approach. Key foods to avoid are: chocolate, coffee, alcohol, foods high in salt, fried foods, high fat foods, white flour or sugar, carbonated drinks, Nutrasweet or saccharine and tobacco (although not technically a food).
Keep in mind that this is a preventative approach ” avoid foods that can further stifle an already suppressed immune system (like alcohol). Stay away from high fat foods which are known to cause lethargy. Avoid fried and high salt foods which can cause the body to swell, and lead to further pain.
Breathing and relaxation exercises are also recommended. Be careful though, with exercise. Overdoing it can set off painful symptoms. I highly recommend my Fibromyalgia program. Its results have been amazing!

Fibromyalgia Symptoms – Often Confused As Flu
Fibromyalgia, a chronic illness, affects nearly 6 million people in the United States. Fibromyalgia symptoms are characterized by widespread pain in the muscles and other soft tissues of the afflicted. This pain can vary in severity from mild to debilitating. The pain is comparable to the aches and pains associated with the flu.
Although pain is the main symptom of fibromyalgia, it is by no means the only symptom. Fibromyalgia, like other chronic pain syndromes, has a variety of symptoms associated with it. The first of these is fatigue. People afflicted with fibromyalgia often feel tired all the time. Upon waking from a night’s sleep, they do not feel rested. Sleep is the body’s way of regenerating. However, if the sleep is disturbed too often and the body is never allowed to enter into the deep restorative stage, then fatigue is inevitable.
Another common symptom of fibromyalgia is chronic headaches. Fibromyalgia headaches come in three forms – tension headaches, migraines or combination headaches. Tension headaches are caused by muscle contractions in the neck, shoulders and jaw. The continuous contractions cause the muscles to tense and eventually lead to a headache beginning at the base of the skull and spreading towards the temples. Migraines are caused by the constriction and dilation of the blood vessels in the brain. Similar to the muscle contractions, the blood vessels constrict slowing circulation in the brain and then suddenly dilate causing extreme pain.
A less common, but extremely frightening symptom of fibromyalgia is called costochondritis. Costochondritis is the inflammation of the seven bits of cartilage between the sternum and the rib cage. This inflammation is often accompanied by sharp chest pains that mimic cardiac problems such as a heart attack or stroke. The pain can cause anxiety which contributes to the fear of a heart attack.
This inflammation can last months and chronic costochondritis is not uncommon among fibromyalgics.

Waking Up at Night? Gene-Eden, a Natural Antiviral Supplement Might Help
Recently, polyDNA conducted a study with users of Gene-Eden, a natural antiviral supplement. The objective was to get a better understanding of the effectiveness of the supplement for different indications. After analyzing the data, the researchers were surprised to discover that people who were taking the supplement for a few weeks report better, more refreshing sleep, relative to the time before starting to take the supplement.
Sleeping and antiviral?
While unknown to the general public, recent scientific studies showed that the cause of many sleeping problems is chronic infections with common viruses. One of these studies showed, for instance, that treatment with valganciclovir, an antiviral drug, benefited many people who were experiencing sleeping problems. In the study, Professor Jose G. Montoya from the School of Medicine at Stanford University and his team gave the drug to a group of people who had both sleep disturbances and a high concentration of chronic viruses. The results showed that the drug resolved the sleeping problems in 75% of the participants!
How are these studies related to Gene-Eden?
Gene-Eden is a natural, broad range, antiviral dietary supplement that targets many common viruses during their latent or chronic phase. Some of these viruses include the Epstein-Barr virus (EBV), Herpes Simplex virus (HSV), Cytomegalovirus (CMV), Varicella Zoster virus (VZV), Human Papillomavirus (HPV), Hepatitis B Virus (HBV), and Hepatitis C Virus (HCV).
The Gene-Eden formulation includes five natural ingredients. To identify these ingredients, the scientists at polyDNA used a unique process. First, they collected thousands of scientific papers. Then, they analyzed the content of these papers with their in-house, proprietary bio-informatics program. Finally, they used the results of the computer analysis to select the five most powerful, yet safe antiviral ingredients.
Some of the papers that show the powerful antiviral effect of the five ingredients are available on the Gene-Eden website at http://www.gene-eden.com.
Also, as would be expected from the rigorous process used by the scientists at polyDNA, users of Gene-Eden report significant improvements in their health.
What is the difference between Gene-Eden and traditional sleeping aids like Ambien and melatonin?
According to the Consumer Reports website: “Most sleep drugs are supposed to be taken for no longer than two weeks or so, and continued use could lead to serious side effects or dependency; “rebound” insomnia, in which sleeplessness returns and might actually worsen; memory lapses; and hallucinations.”
Why do sleeping drugs cause these side effects? Because they change the chemistry in the brain. Sleeping pills induce sleep by creating an artificial chemistry in the user’s brain. However, this artificial chemistry is artificial, and therefore, causes serious side effects.
In addition, the brain is adoptive. That is, when the artificial chemistry becomes the type of chemistry the brain experiences night after night, it starts to adjust itself to the new internal environment. After a short period, the brain can no longer fall asleep without the drugs. The brain became addicted.
Unlike these sleeping aids, Gene-Eden targets the chronic viruses found in the body. It targets the cause of the sleeping problems. Gene-Eden does not produce an artificial chemistry in the brain. It recreates the natural, healthy chemistry found in people with little or no chronic viruses, people who experience uninterrupted, refreshing sleep.
More information on Gene-Eden is available on the “About Sleep” webpage at http://www.gene-eden.com/sleep.htm. More information on other health problems caused by chronic viruses is available on the very interesting webpage that explains the highly acclaimed scientific discovery by Dr. Hanan Polansky’s of the relationship between chronic viruses and major diseases such as heart disease, arthritis, asthma, cancer, diabetes, chronic fatigue syndrome, fibromyalgia, or even accelerated aging. The page can be found at http://www.gene-eden.com/Gene-Eden.htm.
